Counselling & psychotherapy
Kim was trained at Northern Guild Counselling
and Psychotherapy and has a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. She has several years of experience working with NHS General Practice. She is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Kim is a person centred, integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. She therefore creates a tailored and flexible approach to counselling using a range of techniques and interventions, adapting to meet the unique needs of each client.
She recognises the holistic well-being of the client, considering biological, physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual factors that may influence mental health.
She provides a confidential, non-judgemental and compassionate space and will work collaboratively with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
The space is nondirective so you can bring to sessions whatever feels most important to you, whether that be a difficulty in the present or something unresolved from the past. In addition to focussing on the here and now, exploring past relationships and experiences can be a useful part of the work. The awareness gained from this process can support you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and achieve the outcomes you desire.
Kim can support you with stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, low mood, depression, loneliness, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, loss - including redundancy, retirement and adjustment to changes of health.
Kim can offer short or long-term work in-person in Newcastle upon Tyne, or online.
